We are hiring a product developer/ production manager to join our team at Dusen Dusen. Our studio is based in Brooklyn, NY (4 days in office/1 day remote schedule). Looking for a self-starter with excellent communication skills that can show a history of creative problem solving and stewardship. We are a small studio, so candidates must be willing to handle new tasks as they come up.
Qualifications:
-2-3 years experience in product development and production. Ideally with experience in textiles or home goods
-Experience working and collaborating closely with designers
-Inquisitive, passionate about design, and generally fun person to work with
-Must know Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Excel
Responsibilities:
-Bringing products to life from conception through production
-Autonomously manage vendor relationships and own daily communication during development
-Communicate and troubleshoot with manufacturers to get closest to design intent
-Source manufacturing partners for new products (both soft and hard goods)
-Creating accurate and comprehensive tech packs for new products
-Maintaining master cost sheet including all steps of production, collateral and delivery; negotiate with vendors to meet targets; communicate cost updates to Wholesale/Merchandising counterparts throughout development
-Creative problem-solving for issues that arise during development or production
-Maintaining a seasonal product calendar with the team to ensure deadlines are met for samples and timely arrival of goods. Actively communicating and tracking milestones with vendor and communicate delays or other issues to rest of team-Schedule freight shipping for POs and track freight costs for shipments, negotiate when necessary
-Responsible for organizing materials library (all swatches, color cards and supplier materials)
